As you'll see, today we worked on a variety of projects.
Gerri is creating beautiful ethnic Folk Art.

We had a "full house" today.  Welcome back, everyone!

It was great to see Dave again.

Judy, back from her world travels, is starting a new color pencil project.

You know the saying, "all work and no play"?   We don't work all the time!
Judy and Karen.....at play.

Chris decided to work with her knitting today.  "Hats off" to people
with good eyesight...look at the size of those
tiny needles.

Everyone will agree...it was nice to have Lee
join us again.

Our group couldn't have been complete
without Paula.  So glad you were here.

Donna's color pencil landscapes are awesome.

Welcome back, Mary Ann.   We can't wait to see
your completed watercolor painting.

One nice thing about us all getting together is the sharing
and socialization among friends.

We'll finish up today's blog by posting another colorful
alcohol ink painting (on Yupo) by Linda.

As you can see, we don't alway work on the same project every week,
or in the same medium.  Please feel free to drop by on Wednesday mornings
from 9am until noon and join in the fun.

Linda's alcohol ink painting on Yupo.  Linda was working "large" today, and confined any running ink by using an aluminum pan.   Good idea.

Linda has been away for awhile...Today she's "catching" up.  So nice to see you again, Linda.

So interesting to see the evolution of Gerri's collage.  Deepening some of the colors adds to it's beauty.

Gerri

Donna with a new landscape.   She's incredibly good at working with negative painting technique.
Another chilly, chilly day.  Spending a morning with friends warms our souls, though.   Come and join us the first Wednesday in February.

Donna chose a brown background to paint on this morning.

Already you can see the painting coming to life.

Gerri working with something new today:  Zentangle !

Look at the detail in Gerri's drawing.

Still at the collage.  What direction will it take?

Who knows?   Maybe bad boy will appear in it?
It was a chilly Wednesday morning.   Last week we thought it was cold and the temperature was 27 degrees when we arrived at the Center.  This morning, however, it was only about 18 degrees when we arrived...brrr (makes last week seem like a heat wave).   But, we are at the midpoint of January.   Isn't it suppose to start warming up soon?  Although there were only three of us today, we still enjoyed ourselves and great suggestions were shared.   What a "plus" having other artists to learn from.

Wednesday, January 6, 2016.....Happy New Year, Everyone!!

Chris progresses with the tribute to her Grandmother.

Donna working on a new surface..the jury is still out on it.

Carol decided to work with a dark background, versus a white background.

Betty started a new collage.   Where will it go from here?

One of the altered papers made at the previous painting time.   I'm looking at you.
It was nice to see each other this morning.  Now that the Holidays are over, we all agreed it would be nice to get back to a regular schedule.  The Brunswick Rec Center is a great facility for us to be as creative as we'd like to be.  Would you like to schedule some personal time to work on your artwork?  Well, join us the first, second, and third Wednesday morning of the month from 9am -noon.   Looking forward to seeing you.

Carol, painting a delicate chickadee.

Donna...creating another lovely landscape.

Love how you have your colored pencils organized, Judy.

The fruits of Judy's labor.....original hand painted Holiday Cards.

Chris' unique new collage....a tribute to her Grandmother, Rose.   Very special.

Gerri and Betty experimented with something new today...we created altered papers using an orange oil based, natural cleaner sprinkled throughout the pages of a National Geographic magazine.   We felt like kids in a candy store each time we turned a page, after the cleaner did it's "magic".   Who would think we could have so much fun?   Below are some images of the "new" papers.    Can't wait to use them.

We hope you have a wonderful HOLIDAY.    Join with us when we get together again Wednesday, January 6, 2016

Mary Ann's beautiful winter scene

Early stages of Karen's dog painting

Another of Donna's wonderful landscapes

Carol beginning this week's painting

Chris and Linda, catching up

Gerri, showing Karen what's new with her collage.
It was a nice Wednesday at the Center today.   Even though we all work on our projects, some of the time is spent "catching up" if we haven't seen each other in a while and, importantly, sharing ideas.    A very supportive environment for us all.    Apologies to "Judge" Judy...I wasn't quick enough getting out my camera to photograph her (and her painting of a tiger) before she had to leave a bit early.

If you like to create artwork, and have never been to Wednesday Art at the Center, why not consider joining us as part of your New Year's Resolution?   If you've been to the Center in the past..we'd be happy to see you back.     We'll be back next Wednesday.

Art At The Center....Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Chris working on a new collage.

Gerri  adds yet another layer of mystery.

Sage using pastel pencils for a new composition.

Beautiful color pencil painting, Donna.

Carol working on her new painting.

Next Wednesday, December  9th, we are planning on going to lunch after our painting time.  We are planning on going to Appleby's.     Anyone who joins us for Wednesday Art At The Center is welcome to join in.
