Lee's new lively tree line pastel, in progress.
Don's new "Van Gogh" mixed media composition.
Barb's experimental watercolor.
Bonnie's "Cool Cat" getting ready for a nap.

Notes:

If you want some of the items that were previously sold at Pat Catan's,
go to their website and write a note to them.  If enough people do this,
they make bring back sectional frames and canvas stretchers as well as
other items you miss.

Also, let me know before you pack up to photograph your work.
Thank you.  Bonnie

We all did a lot of work today, in addition to discussing Carol's inspiring demo and talk.  So much helpful information to absorb.  This group is really impressive in terms of being open to new ideas, being willing to risk, and being willing to share.  It's a supportive, safe environment in which to spread our creative wings.

Special Critique presentation by guest artist Carol J. Stevens, September 10, 2018

Many, many thanks to Carol Stevens for sharing her insights and expertise with our group.  This was an inspiring and motivating experience and we were given some very practical, usable techniques and tools for evaluating our paintings as we work.  It will undoubtedly also help us better understand what to look for when we are critiquing the work of others.  In addition, Carol sparked some real excitement about painting on Yupo.  Carol's enthusiasm is contagious, and I think we all now have permission to jump in and play and experiment to our heart's content.

Don's elephant painting is coming along nicely!

Donna's moody landscape in progress

Jackie's exciting abstract acrylic painting

One of the nice things about this group is that it is dynamic in that people come and go.  Some folks attend regularly, others occasionally, and some visit a few times and never return.  As the composition of the group changes,so do the types of work, the media, and the subject matter.  There are always surprises!

Reminder:

When we are creating our art together on Wednesdays in
the Arts and Crafts Room, I admit, I'm in my own world.
So, please let me know before you pack up so I
can get the best picture of your art.  Don't hesitate
to get my attention.
