We had a good turnout today, and everyone set right to work.  The paintings are all still in process...although some are obviously further along than other.  Isn't it interesting how differently we each approach our painting, even those using the same medium?  Our paintings are as unique as we are.  So, does that mean they reflect our individual personalities?

The enthusiasm of this group is evident in the quality and creativity of the above paintings.  Thanks to Dave for bringing his setup so that everyone had the opportunity to experience two different ways of applying encaustics, and also seeing his very creative examples of work.  I think everyone had fun and came away with a great little painting.  Unfortunately, the photos don't really do them justice; they are really spectacular in person.

Because most of our critique group members are also members of Art at the Center Painting Group, we will now have the photos from our critiques posted on the Art at the Center blog.  The critique group meets on the second Monday each month, from 9:00 AM - Noon, in the Arts and Crafts Room at the Brunswick Recreation Center.  All are welcome to participate by simply showing up with 1-2 paintings to be critiqued by the group, and providing input on the work of your fellow artists.  Enjoy!
