SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Join the FUN!!!!
Encaustics (wax painting) Workshop
Presented by: Dave Fawcett and Lee Beuther
Wednesday, April 10, 2019
9:00 AM - Noon
FREE!
You will learn the history of encaustic painting and have a chance to practice two of the three most common methods of creating encaustic art. We will talk about encaustic paints and will have some samples for you to see, but you will be using crayons for this workshop.
We will provide:
Crayons, craft irons, a hot tray, and small pieces of mat board (approx. 3x5), and paper or fabric covers for the tables. We will also have books about encaustic painting, information on where to purchase materials, and some sample paintings.
Feel free to bring some larger pieces of mat board and some paper to also use. 5x7 is a great size for working with encaustics. Also, metallic paper is fun.
A friendly suggestion: Don't wear your Sunday best for this workshop. Older clothes and a smock are a good idea. No rubber gloves...we'll be working with hot irons!
This workshop is always fun, and no two encaustic paintings are alike. You do not need to know how to draw, just be willing to play with the wax and experiment with different designs. I have attached a couple of photos of encaustic paintings so you can get an idea what we're talking about.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
