What a great day.  As you can see, we had a VERY  full house this morning.
Seems like everyone came for painting time, plus two new folks..(welcome,
Barb & Jim).

Here's Dave.   He usually gets right down to work and produces more finished
paintings than all of us put together.  Today he must have completed four abstract,
alcohol ink paintings.   See one of his first one's, above.  There will be another
posted a little further along in today's posting.

Linda played with her alcohol inks, also.

Gerri used a photo she'd taken of a sunflower for her reference.  Here you can
see both her reference photo and the beginning stages of her painting, done
with colored pencil.

Barb (first time with us today) painted with watercolor.
Donna started a new colored pencil landscape painting.  Her reference
photo is included.

Chris started a new collage.  Here she's arranging the items she will be
including in her painting.  Interestingly, she was able to obtain her
childhood immunization record, which she plans on featuring in the work.

Paula started a little watercolor painting of sail boats.  BTW...welcome back, Paula.

Marsha finished a painting of one of her dear cats which was started several
weeks ago.   To see progress shots, go back in the Blog to earlier
postings.

Karen worked with colored pencil today.  She's creating the paintings which will
be used in coasters.   You can see several
finished ones at the top of her work surface.

Our table was so crowded today that Mary Ann set up on the window
sill to work.   Here you see the start of another of her
watercolor paintings.   It will be fun to see how her project progresses.

Judy continued working on a colored pencil painting  she started on
an earlier date.   Again, if you were to go back to a previous posting, you'll
be able to see the progression.

Jim (first time with us today) works in watercolor.

The last of Dave's four paintings today.   He loves to experiment and play...
today working with alcohol ink.  Happy colors.

In the last Blog (dated April 20, 2016) we mentioned that Amy Marzich,  the Rec Center's
Activity Co-ordinator (pictured here with Lee),  requested a sampling of our work for
one of the display cases at the Rec Center.  WELLLLL, today was the day Lee and
I prepared the display case.  It really looks great!   If you are visiting the
Brunswick Rec Center, I hope you'll take a look....we think you'll be delighted.
The display case is situated off the main lobby, on the way to the gym.

Here's an overall view of the display case.  But it's more fun to see
close-up photos of the artwork.  So, keep reading:

One of Linda's alcohol ink paintings.

Donna's colored pencil landscape.

Lee brought a sweet little encaustic.

Betty's not-too-serious acrylic painting.

Mary Ann's watercolor sunflowers.

Dave's abstract encaustic painting.

Gerri's colored pencil sunflower.

Aren't they all wonderful!!

Just a reminder.....next Wednesday, May11, 2016 will be the day we will
be having an encaustic mini-workshop.   Please see the April 13, 2016 Blog posting
for the supply list.
