Vintage Artists, Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Donna continues with a new woodland composition that shows
her experience with drawing light, color, depth and structure.
Jackie continues
with her cubist composition of sea related images.
Louise is working on a botanical study of the lilac.

Don is dramatically changing his drawing with more structure,
color and contrast.
Chris is continuing with her pastel rendering of  the apples adding
shading, highlights and contour.

Continuing with her "river ice jam" mixed media composition,
Bonnie adds linear elements.

It is always a pleasure to have new additions to our vintage artists.
Welcome Louise!  If anyone knows of someone who might
like to join us, please let them know about our meetings.

Another book!
Painting Methods of the Impressionists by Bernard Dunstan, R.A.
Who hasn't been captivated by the luminous color and imagery of the
Impressionists?  Monet, Renoir, Pissaro, Degas, and the post-
Impressionists had similar ideals and objectives in the
construction of their compositions.  Each artist is summarized by their
subject matter, use of color, palette and how they created
their eye-catching compositions.
The book is also a "slice" of art history, examining
Pre-impressionists, Post-impressionists and American artists
in Europe who were associated with the French Impressionists.

See you next Wednesday!
